You are invited to partake of the healing powers once found within this jar.
The apothecary jar is an icon, which, throughout art history, has represented Mary Magdalene. A vessel similar to this one contained the precious ointments she used to wash the feet of her husband, Yeshua the Nazorean.
From this simple jar many thoughts and deeds have poured forth over the ages. Indeed, consider this vessel as the vehicle from which much of western civilization is thought to be derived. This book attempts to tell that story.
In this art history mystery Myriam's tale parallels the life story of Mary Magdalene. This contemporary mystery offers a sense of the original purpose of the couple, Myriam and Yeshua, (Mary Magdalene and Jesus) reflecting their understanding of accomodation, acceptance and respect of difference. Myriam's influence emerges as the missing female link, the nurturing aspect absent within a historically male dominated Christian religion. How different our world might be, had they been allowed to pursue their simple quest.
Three different women in this story, Mori, Maraclea and Myri, try to find answers to the ageless puzzle that is Myriam's life. Their stories are set in Paris, Milano and Provence.
I hope you can imagine the healing powers once found within this vessel.
